How To Fix The DHCP Missing In MMC Console Issue In Windows 10?
“Hi Wally, I wonder if you can answer this questions for me. Recently upgraded from windows 8 to windows 10. I installed RSAT and now I’m having issues with DHCP on the server. The DHCP feature seems to be missing in administrator tools. ” – Victoria B., USA
Before addressing any computer issue, I always recommend scanning and repairing any underlying problems affecting your PC health and performance:
- Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (WinThruster for Win7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
- Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
- Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.
Setting up weekly (or daily) automatic scans will help prevent system problems and keep your PC running fast and trouble-free.
Wally’s Answer: Windows 10 has seen a pretty favorable response from its users so far. With 75 Million activations in its first thirty days of release, Windows 10 has a growing number of happy users. Of course, an operating system upgrade can have some problems as well. Here we will be looking at DHCP related problems in RSAT installations on Windows 10.
DHCP tools are missing from the installed RSAT package for Windows 10.
Here are some things that you should consider regarding DHCP missing in the RSAT installation.
Remote Server Administration Tools or RSAT
Remote Server Administration Tools are used to manage Windows server technical preview from a remote computer. However, the following are not included in RSAT for Windows 10:
DHCP Tools are not included in RSAT. Windows PowerShell cmdlets are available in their place.
IP Address Management Tools (IPAM tools) are also not available in RSAT.
GUI-based Routing and Remote Access Tools are not available in RSAT for Windows 10 (right now) but Windows PowerShell cmdlets are available in their place.
RSAT for Windows 10 can only be installed on computers running a full version of Windows 10. You can read more about the current version of RSAT tools for Windows 10 by clicking here.
Is Your PC Healthy?
I always recommend to my readers to regularly use a trusted registry cleaner and optimizer such as WinThruster or CCleaner. Many problems that you encounter can be attributed to a corrupt and bloated registry.
