Tazinga Virus Troubleshooting

Reader Question:
“Hi Wally, I am having problems with Tazinga Virus and wondering how to fix it?”    - Amy E., USA

Before addressing any computer issue, I always recommend scanning and repairing any underlying problems affecting your PC health and performance:

  • Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (WinThruster for Win 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP and 2000 – Microsoft Gold Certified).
  • Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
  • Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.

Setting up weekly (or daily) automatic scans will help prevent system problems and keep your PC running fast and trouble-free.

Wally’s Answer:

Overview of Tazinga Virus

The Tazinga virus hijacks a browser’s homepage and searches page replacing them with a site selected by the virus creators. Tazinga is a particularly troublesome bit of malware because it both spies on a computer user’s activity, and auto-redirects to places the user does not control.

While it is possible to manually remove the virus, people familiar with the process should only use this method. Like many such parasitic programs, Tazinga can regenerate itself whole if not removed completely. For this reason, removal applications for malware elimination are suggested to effectively deal with the virus.

Unsecured Internet websites can contain pop-ups that install this program. A single click begins the installation, making it can be easy for users to mistake for something more benign. Once the installation is complete, the browser speed and stability degrade, rendering normal web browsing impossible.

The slowness derives from the fact that a stream of private data from the computer is now being sent to remote servers. This information is used to send advertisements of various sorts back in the form of pop-ups and spam.

What Problems are Associated with Tazinga Virus?

The Tazinga Virus has been linked to some fraudulent antivirus programs. Malicious programs such as these must be removed along with the Tazinga Virus or the entire process will be replicated.

Tazinga can also trigger a Windows blue screen error (BSOD) messages. Moreover, it can limit the changes possible to desktop wallpaper. If your system becomes subject to frequent shutdowns, it may be a sign of this sort of infection.

Other relevant indicators include difficulty in obtaining Internet access, the frequent appearance of pop-up windows, and an inability to delete corrupted files.

Care should be taken in downloading free movies, games, and music from unfamiliar sites as these often are the sources of Tazinga infection. Adult content sites are another well-known source.

The greatest caution of all must come in the selection of antivirus software to download, as these can contain not only the Tazinga Virus but also a variety of other malicious programs.

I always recommend to my readers to regularly use a trusted registry cleaner and optimizer such as WinThruster or CCleaner. Many problems that you encounter can be attributed to a corrupt and bloated registry.
