In the early 1990s, HP began designing and marketing laptops and desktops to the individual consumer. They had already built a strong reputation for reliability and performance in the business sector, which enabled them to quickly capture a large share of the consumer market.

HP desktops and laptops are sold in retail outlets and online computer and electronic stores around the world. HP products can also be purchased directly through their website. Many of their laptops and desktops are designed to target specific demographics in different parts of the world. They are also widely recognized as having some of the best technical and customer support in the industry.

What Problems are Associated with Your HP Computer?

HP desktop users have reported that the CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives frequently fail. After inserting a CD or DVD, the auto-play feature does not start as normal. Browsing to the disk drive and attempting to run the disk manually results in the message, “Please insert a disk into drive F:”

Occasionally this is caused by a bad connection between the mainboard and the disk drive. The majority of the time, however, the disk drive has failed and needs to be replaced.
